Ambassador Hynek Kmoníček inaugurated Mr. Robin R. Zoufalik as new Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Mr. Robin R. Zoufalik was introduced in his new role at a ceremony held on Wednesday June 2, 2021. The location of the consular post is in Pittsburgh with jurisdiction throughout the State of Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. As Honorary Consul, Mr. Zoufalik will, together with the Czech diplomatic missions, promote cultural and economic relations and provide a consular assistance to the Czech citizens living in or visiting Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.

Mr. Robin R. Zoufalik is a native of Prague who successfully escaped from Communist Czechoslovakia with his parents. He lives in the US since 1967. Moving to Pittsburgh in year 2000, he soon became involved in the numerous Czech related events. Robin is very interested in maintaining the Czech Culture. He is the founder of Czechs in Burgh, the original organizer of the Pittsburgh Czech Language Meetup Group, Board Member of Friend of Via, active member of Pittsburgh Rotary. Professionally, building on his education (BSME from Southern Methodist University (SMU)) and experience within diverse segments and regions he is involved in business development, marketing, and strategic planning with various companies.

Mr. Robin R. Zoufalik replaced the Honorary Consul Dr. Carol Hochman, who has held this position since 2007. Ambassador Kmoníček sincerely thanked her for her 14 years of dedicated and much appreciated service.
