Consular Information

The Consular and Visa seciton provides services for Czech citizens (applications for Czech passports and for the Czech citizenship, an authentication of signatures or copies, a registration of birt or marriageú. Through th CzechPOINT acces it can provide a certificate from the Czech public administration systems, for example police clearance, land registry, businedd registry etc.

Consular and Visa Section is open for public from Monday to Thursday 9.00 - 12.00, with the exception of Czech and South African public holidays.

For a Schengen visa application no appointment is needed for individuals. For groups over 7 persons special arrangements and an appointment have to be made in advance. For applications for a long stay visa or a residence permit and for consular matters please make an appointment at +27 12 431 2380. Please call in the afternoon.

How to Apply for Schengen Visa

Under category Visa you will find information for visa applicants from the Republic of South Africa, Republic of Botswana, Kingdom of Lesotho, Republic of Mauritius, Republic of Namibia, Kingdom of Swaziland, Republic of Angola and the Republic of Madagascar.

Due to temporary closure of the Visa Section of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Harare, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Pretoria also issues visas for citizens of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Republic of Zambia, Republic of Malawi and Republic of Mozambique. Please note that South African Citizens with residence in Eastern, Northern and Western Cape provinces may apply in Cape Town at the TLScontact Centre, their applications will then handled by te Consulate General of Switzerland in Cape Town.

Applicants for a Schengen visa in Angola can contact the consulates of Portugal in Luanda.

Applicants for a Schengen visa in Botswana can contact the Embassy of France in Gaborone.

Applicants for a Schengen visa in Mozambique can contact the Embassy of Portugal in Maputo.

All applicants for a Schengen visa can submit the application at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Pretoria as well.
