The Delegation from the Czech Military History Institute visited Latvia

On February 12 to 15, 2017 a delegation of Czech military historians visited Latvia. Col. Aleš Knížek, Director of the Military History Institute Prague, Col. Michal Burian, Director of museums, Deputy Director General and Lt. Col. Martin Mlčoch, Deputy Director of PEO Prague came to Riga to discuss the preparation for the exhibition dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich. 
 

The exhibition will be held under the auspices of the Minister of Defence Martin Stropnický.

The Czech military historians met with the Director of the Latvian War Museum Mrs. Aija Fleija and discussed the details of upcoming exhibition. They also had a meeting with Parlamentarian Secretary for the Ministry of Defence Mr. Andrejs Panteļējevs and informed him abot this project. As well, at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Latvia they met with Latvian well-known military historian Mr. Inesis Feldmanis, who promised to attend the seminars, which are to be carried out in the Latvian Museum of War along with the opening of the exhibition.

Czech delegation also had a tour over famous Liepaja’s military port Karosta (now it is a military museum) with local military historian Juris Raķis.

The exhibition is expected to be opened on June 5 , 2017 including a seminar for professionals and screening of the film about the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich.
