Another "Aid for Trade" project successfully handed over in Mongolia

Realization of "Aid for Trade" projects funded by the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade, along with other development assistances, is an essential part of the activities of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ulaanbaatar. On October 15, 2021, an aid for trade project dubbed “Insulation of Dormitory Building of Vocational Training Center” was handed over at a ceremony organized at Erdene soum Vocational Training Center.

In 2021, two "Aid for Trade" projects were approved for Mongolia. The mentioned project on insulation of the vocational center dormitory in Erdene soum received a funding of approximately 62 thousand USD, whereas the second project on "Drinking water supply and wastewater treatment solutions in three Mongolian soums" was granted a funding of about 40 thousand USD. The aim of the projects is to deepen development cooperation and, on their bases, to support the future commercial relations of both parties.

The completion of insulation project will help save heating costs for the dormitory building in Erdene soum, while also the reduction of coal burned for heat is expected to have a positive impact on the local environment. The works completed by Contechin S.R.O during the project implementation is highly appreciated. Training more than 20 workers on how to perform thermal insulation is an important highlight of the project. Based on the training, these workers can look for and co-implement similar projects in the future, in cooperation with Contechin, in the form of commercial partnership.

At the ceremony for handing over the project, Director of the Vocational Training Center Sh.Otgonkhuu, Governor of Erdene Soum A.Mungunbayar, Minister of Construction and Urban Development B.Munkhbaatar, chief analyst of the Policy Implementation and Coordination Department of the Ministry of Social Welfare and Labour D.Adilbish and specialist J.Tsetsegjargal were present.

The Deputy Ambassador, Mr. Josef Kostiha delivered a speech at the ceremony, wishing success to the Vocational Training Center, underlining the embassy’s high recognition of the project, and expressed commitment to  future cooperation in the development and commercial projects. The deputy chief of mission conveyed his confidence in the project’s capacity to assist in the further development cooperation in this area of endeavour.

At the Erdene soum training center, the Czech Republic has already implemented several local projects on dairy and meat processing, and the supply of small gardening equipment. The Center, thus, has become a center of Czech technologies, where those interested can get acquainted with these Czech model projects in one place.
