Improvement of the Mongolian health sector

On 20.03.2017, the Ambassador the Czech Republic in Mongolia Mrs. Ivana Grollova and Mr. G. Borkhuu, General Director of the Sain Uilsiin Zuv Zam NGO, signed the project contract of the “Improvement of medical care of the new mothers at the First Maternity Hospital”.

With an aim to repair and replace the broken parts of at least 50 wheelchairs and 20 medical transportation desks, the project is expected to improve the overall service quality of the aforementioned maternity hospital with highest number of admissions at the national level e.g. total 15,917 admissions in 2015. A domestic manufacturer of the steel tools, parts and items - Oyun Dari Ekh LLC will conduct the repair and maintenance work under the careful supervision and control of the implementing NGO at their workshop. The sustainability of the project will be ensured by the beneficiary hospital in long-term whilst the quality of the repairs is going to be revisited by the follow-up questionnaire in 5 months after project completion.

Situation of the health sector in Mongolia should be a matter of state authorities, this project, however has been supported to encourage social interest in troubles occurring around, in self-reflection and willingness to participate in solutions and supervise daily-life things that matter.
