Visit of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Marian Jurečka

From October 31 to November 2, 2023, an official visit by Marian Jurečka, Deputy Prime Minister of the Czech Republic and Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, took place. The visit included a business delegation and representatives from four ministries: Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Agriculture, and Ministry of Environment of the Czech Republic.
 

Deputy Prime Minister Jurečka was welcomed by Mongolia's highest representatives, including G. Zandarshatar, Chariman of the Grand State Khural (Parliament), Minister of Foreign Affairs B. Battsetseg, Minister of Environment and Tourism Mr. B. Bat-Erden, and the Minister for Labour and Social Protection, Ms. Ch. Bulgantuya.

Vice-President Jurečka inaugurated the meeting of the Czech-Mongolian Joint Committee on Economic Cooperation and the Czech-Mongolian Business Forum. During his visit, he met with the rectors of the two largest Mongolian universities, Mongolian State University and Mongolian University of Science and Technology, where he presented a computer room equipped with Czech software. Mr. Jurečka also delivered the opening speech at the traditional National Day reception. Additionally, he officially handed over equipment for wastewater treatment from wool processing and engaged with representatives of Czech non-profit organizations operating in Mongolia, such as People in Need and Caritas Czech Republic.

The state visit garnered significant media attention on both the Mongolian and Czech sides. The primary announcement to Mongolia was from the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, revealing the extension of the quota for Mongolian workers in the Czech Republic, increasing from 1000 to 3000 work visas.
