Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Lipavský visited Romania

On 25 and 26 September, Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský visited Bucharest. He had a working meeting and lunch with Romanian Foreign Minister Luminiţa Odobescu, where, in addition to bilateral relations, they discussed cooperation in the area of regional security, assistance to Ukraine, enlargement of the EU and Schengen area, the Three Seas Initiative and cooperation in NATO and the UN. They also signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries and made statements to the press.
 

The Minister also attended the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the arrival of Czech compatriots in the Romanian Banat, which took place at the National Village Museum "Dimitrie Gusti", where he met with the presidents of all the compatriot branches and compatriots from all the Banat villages. The event was also attended by Romanian representatives of the President's Office, the Government Office, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture and MPs representing minorities in the Romanian Parliament.

Minister Lipavsky published an article evaluating Czech-Romanian relations and mutual cooperation in the national media G4 Media and gave an extensive interview to the most watched Romanian television Digi TV during the visit.
