On September 7, Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský spoke as a foreign guest at the annual meeting of Romanian ambassadors, which took place on 6th to 8th of September.  Alina Pădeanu, State Counsellor for European Affairs at the Prime Minister's Office, took the floor together with Minister Lipavský at the second plenary session moderated by Minister Bogdan Aurescu on the topic "Diplomatic response to systemic challenges of the international environment: a new impetus for global cooperation". Other foreign guests at the meeting were European Commission Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Portuguese Foreign Minister João Gomes Cravinho and the Head of Polish Diplomacy Zbigniew Rau.

Minister Jan Lipavský recalled the importance of solidarity at the EU and NATO level in the face of the current challenges posed by Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine. He stressed the need for coordinated and swift action to support Ukraine's efforts and deter Russia's aggression - freedom, democracy and a rules-based international order are at stake in this conflict. In this context, he appreciated the special support provided by Romania to Ukraine, focusing on its central role in managing the influx of refugees and facilitating grain exports.
