Czech Film Night in Husets Biograf on 6 February 2024

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Copenhagen cordially invites you to the Czech Film Night, which will take place Tuesday, the 6th of February 2024 at 7:30 p.m. in Husets Biograf, Rådshusstræde 13, Copenhagen K.

For the February screening, we´ve selected Adelheid (1969), the first color film directed František Vláčil, based on the same name novel written by Vladimír Körner. The story itself and the director's extraordinary artistic skill rank the work among the best pictures that were made about the post-war period. Top performances were also done by Petr Čepek and Emma Černá in the lead roles.

With the February screening, we would like to commemorate the exceptional personality of director František Vláčil, who would have celebrated the 100th anniversary of his birth on February 19.

Annotation: Viktor Chotovický, a member of the foreign resistance, arrives in the North Moravian border just after the Second World War. In the dilapidated mansion he was entrusted with managing, he meets the daughter of the factory owner, the German Adelheid Heidenmann, who is awaiting deportation. However, the conflicting time does not wish either their love or compassion...
